As a senior, Ettinger paired exclusively with Meg Norton and produced a 32-6 overall record with a 25-2 mark at the No. 3 position in duals… helped lead the Trojans to their first-ever team championship… finished with 355 kills, 43 blocks, and 54 service aces… advanced to the semifinals for the USC Tournament and the quarterfinals of the Queen of the Beach Challenge Gold Bracket… advanced to the quarterfinals of the USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge silver bracket and to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Invitational… provided the clinching point in 10 of USC’s 28 victories including earning the final kill of a three-set victory over No. 3 Pepperdine to seal the dual victory on March 24.
As a junior, Ettinger was 28-8 overall with a 21-3 record in dual matches… paired primarily with Bria Russ and played from court four in duals to produced a 26-8 overall record with 19-3 dual mark… also won one match each with Brooke Fournier and Mary Buckingham in dual play… advanced to quarterfinals of USC Tournament, USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge Bronze bracket, and the Pac-12 Invitational… advanced to semifinal match of Rainbow Wahine Spring Challenge with Russ before falling to USC teammates Kirby Burnham and Sara Hughes… won 10 straight matches from March 25-April 13.
Ettinger played at the No. 3 spot as a sophomore in 2013, primarily with Bria Russ… produced a 16-11 overall record, including 13-10 with Russ, 2-0 with Cinnamon Sary, and 1-1 with Alexa Stonish.
As a freshman in 2012, Ettinger filled in for an injured Sam Hirschmann for the final month of the season on USC’s No. 4 pairs team with Kendall Bateman and went 3-5… in the summer of 2012, she worked with the USA Beach National Training Team, and teamed with Stevi Robinson to compete in the NORCECA Beach Circuit event in Chula Vista in September, as well as in the 2012 Manhattan Beach Open and Hermosa Beach Open.
Ettinger redshirted as a freshman middle blocker in the fall of 2011, her first year at USC.
Ettinger earned All-Channel League first team honors in her junior and senior seasons at Santa Barbara HS (Calif.)… named Most Valuable Player as a 2009 junior… named to the 16s All-Tournament team at the Junior Olympics… finished in second place at the 2010 AAU Junior Olympics U18 beach volleyball event… as a 2010 senior year, she was named to the Tournament of Champions All-Tournament team… invited to play in Europe with the USA High Performance team in the summer of 2011, playing in Serbia and Croatia… played club volleyball for the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club… served as team captain for the Smack team in 2010 and 2011… earned bronze in the American Division of the U.S. Junior Nationals in 2006 and 2009 and in the Open Division in 2008… member of the 2007 and 2008 A1 and A2 U.S. indoor volleyball teams… member of the U.S. beach volleyball program, playing for the U18 and U21 teams (2009-11).
Eve Ettinger was born Dec. 31, 1992… holds dual citizenship in the United States and Canada… served as a volunteer for the UCSB wheelchair sports camp (2007-10)… graduated with a degree in communication from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
