    Sand 2013: Irvin, who has volleyball roots at USC and throughout the Pac-12, will compete as a 2013 freshman on USC's sand team.

    High School/Club: She played libero at Marymount High in Los Angeles (Calif.), which won the CIF Southern Division IA title and played in the state Division I final during her 2011-12 senior season...She captained the varsity team...Marymount also won the CIF Division IA crown during her junior season...She played for the Sunshine Volleyball Club for 8 years...At the Junior Olympics with Sunshine, she won a silver medal in the 13s and a bronze in the 12s, plus placed 11th in the 17s...She won a gold medal at the 2012 AAU Junior California 18s Open, a silver at the Tachikara 18s Classic, a gold at the 2011 USA Volleyball Southern California 18s Open, a bronze at the 2011 AAU Beach National Championship 18s (with Franny Hock) and a silver at the 2009 USA Volleyball Junior Beach Tour Open...She and Skylar Dykstra won the 2003 and 2004 U10 AAU Beach Volleyball National Championships, as well as the 2006 USA Beach Volleyball Junior Olympics...She also earned a silver medal at the VB Rags Volleyball Championships in Puerto Rico.

    Personal: She was born March 14, 1994...Her sister, Kelly, played in the No. 2 and 3 pairs spots for USC's sand team in 2012, advancing to the quarterfinals of the AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball Championship, after starting at setter indoors at Virginia (2007-09)...Her brother is a junior outside hitter at Stanford and was a member of the U.S. Junior National Team...Her father, Chris, played volleyball at UCLA and was a member of the Bruins' 1974 and 1975 national championship squads...Her uncle, Greg, played on USC's 1980 men's volleyball national championship squad...Her aunt, Diane, played golf at UCLA and went on to play professionally on the LPGA Tour...Her uncle, Bobby, was a member of the USC football team (1988-90)...Her uncle, Richard, played men's volleyball at UCLA and was a member of the 1970, 1971 and 1972 national championship squads...Eight of her relatives have attended USC...She is an environmental studies major at USC with an A- average (3.56 GPA).
