    Abril Bustamante suits up for her sophomore season with the Women of Troy.

    As a freshman, Bustamante teamed up with Jenna Belton at the No. 4 spot, going 26-5 in dual matches and 28-7 overall… selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team and the Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team.... advanced to the silver bracket finals at the Hawai’i Invitational and the silver bracket quarterfinals at the USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge… earned Pac-12 Pair of the Week honors with Belton (March 28).

    Bustamante was a four-year indoor volleyball letter winner at Redondo Union HS in Redondo Beach, Calif.… named to the second-annual AVCA High School Beach All-America Team… named 2014 AAU Player of the Year… rated a Top 10 Teen by South Bay Magazine… helped lead RUHS to the 2014 CIF State Championship, and the Bay League Championship… played two years for Elite Beach Volleyball Club… member of the USA High Performance A1 U19 Beach Junior National Team… took first place at the 2013 HP Championships with the A1 U17 Junior National Team… won the 2012 AAU High School Sand Volleyball Pairs Championship… placed first in numerous CBVA tournaments… won the 2015 Hermosa Open and U21/U23 High Performance title with partner Sarah Sponcil… won the 2015 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games and the BVCA National Championship with partner Skylar Caputo… competed in the AVP Manhattan Beach Open with Caputo.

    Abril Bustamante was born on Aug. 12, 1997, in Buenos Aires, Argentina… parents are Diego and Mireia Bustamante… has one brother, Iñaki, and one sister, Olivia… enjoys singing, dancing and outdoor activities in her spare time… majoring in communication.
