Harvey, Millinder Earn Pac-10 Women's Soccer Honors|
November 19, 1998
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC sophomore midfielder Isabelle Harvey and women's soccer head coach Jim Millinder were named the Pacific-10 Conference's Co-Player and Coach of the Year, respectively, on Thursday.
Harvey made her second All-Pac-10 first team and shared top honors with Stanford's Tracye Lawyer after leading the conference in assists (12) and finishing third in scoring (28 points).
Millinder was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year for the second time in three years, leading USC to its first-ever conference title and NCAA Tournament berth.
Other Trojans receiving postseason honors were junior Kim Clark (first team) and seniors Courtney Barham and Meghan Reppe (both on the second team).
Clark made the first team for the second year in a row despite missing the season's final four games with a broken leg.
Reppe was likely the Pac-10's top defender, as no defender was named to the first team and the only other defender on the second team was Cal's Ryan McManus. Reppe made the second team for the second straight year.
ASU's Stacey Tullock was named Freshman of the Year.
Then, seniors Carol Hatcher and Karen Puccinelli were named to the conference's All-Academic first team. Senior Karen Norgaard made the second team and sophomores Katie Ticehurst and Andrea Warner made the honorable mention team.
