    Molen and Prudhomme Earn CoSIDA District 8 All-Academic First Team honors

    LOS ANGELES – USC redshirt senior goalkeeper Sammy Jo Prudhomme and junior midfielder Nicole Molen were named CoSIDA District 8 All-Academic First Team selections, it was announced today. Both will qualify for the final ballot to potentially be named Academic All-Americans.

    For Molen, this is her second-straight year of earning first team honors, boasting a 3.92 GPA as a human biology major. The senior is tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals, with four goals total on the year. She has started all 16 games for the Trojans to date in this her junior season. She also earned Pac-12 All-Academic First Team honors last season.

    For Prudhomme, this is her first year being named to the first team, after earning second team honors in 2015. The redshirt senior goalkeeper has a 3.32 GPA as a communications major. She has also excelled on the field this season, tallying 10 individual shutout victories, the most by any Trojan goalkeeper in the regular season. She ranks in the top five nationally in shutouts and save percentage. She earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention honors in 2015.
