LOS ANGELES – The 2016 USC women’s soccer team, which opens up preseason camp on Wednesday, is ranked No. 11 in the NSCAA preseason poll, it was announced today.

The Trojans finished off the 2015 slate with a 14-6-2 record, finishing second in the Pac-12 and advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 for just the third time in program history.

The Trojans return a strong core of nine of 11 starters, including Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Kayla Mills, along with highly-touted midfielder Morgan Andrews, who led the team in scoring in 2015. Both Mills and Andrews earned NSCAA All-America honors last season.

The Trojans open up play with an exhibition contest on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. PT at McAlister Field, as a tune-up for the official season opener on Friday, Aug. 19 at Santa Clara.
