Women's Soccer Springs Double Surprise

Women of Troy defeat national powers Notre Dame and Nebraska in scrimmages.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The USC women's soccer team recorded two victories in spring scrimmages against national powers Notre Dame (1-0 on Saturday, April 13) and Nebraska (3-2 on Friday, April 12).

In Friday's game, Jessica Edwards scored two goals in the second half to lead the Women of Troy to the win against the host Cornhuskers. Jackie Fodor registered the other goal off an assist from Megan Abbamonto.

In Saturday's game, midfielder Kelly Blais registered the lone goal in the 10th minute against the Fighting Irish. Freshman goalkeeper Julie Peterson started both matches for the Women of Troy.
