STOCKTON, CALIF. - After almost 60 full minutes without a goal of its own and staring at a two-goal deficit, the USC women's soccer team generated a successful comeback on the road. The Trojans plugged in three goals in 10 minutes to get on the board, equalize and win their nonconference road game at Pacific. Freshman Courtney Garcia is credited with her third game-winning goal for her score in the 70th minute to get USC a 3-2 win over the host Tigers in Stockton on Friday night. USC improve to 6-3-0 overall with the Trojans' fifth straight victory, while Pacific goes to 5-3-2 with the loss.

Pacific got on the board first with a score off a free kick in the 11th minute of play. The 1-0 advantage would stand in the Tigers' favor through halftime. Ten minutes into the second half, Pacific would climb ahead 2-0 on a left-footed bender from top-scorer Maricela Padilla. It had been almost a month since any tean had managed to score more than a single goal against the Trojan defense, but the 2-0 hole did not shake the resolve of the Women of Troy.

Not five minutes after the Tigers put the Trojans behind 2-0, USC jumped back into gear. In the 60th minute, Brittany Kerridge sparked the USC offense with a score off an assist from Megan Ohai after a USC corner kick. Just one minute later, Marihelen Tomer had the equalizer for USC when she put away a blast from 15 yards out to make it a manageable 2-2 in the 61st minute.

At 69:48, USC's increased offensive attack busted through again, this time with a freshman connection as the rebound of Samantha Johnson's initial shot was cleanly finished by Courtney Garcia to lift USC ahead 3-2 and notch Garcia's third goal of the year. The freshman would finish with her third game-winning goal on that strike, as USC held on to its lead and secured an important road victory with the 3-2 decision.
