TEMPE, Ariz. - Freshman Becky Miller (Westlake Village/La Reina HS) provided the lone goal Friday as the No. 17 USC Trojans recorded a 1-0 decision over the Colorado Buffaloes in the first game of the 2000 Sun Devil Classic. Miller scored at 35:06 off a cross from the right side by junior Brittany Savelkoul (Seal Beach/Los Alamitos HS). It was Miller's first collegiate goal.

Sophomore Lauren Arase (La Canada/La Canada HS) recorded her fourth career solo shutout for USC (2-0). Arase made two saves and improved her career record to a perfect 9-0.

The Trojans dominated the contest, outshooting the Buffaloes by a 29-6 margin. USC had a 11-0 advantage over Colorado (0-2) in the first half.

The Trojans will play Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 3. It will be the first time that the Trojans have faced Michigan in women's soccer.
