LOS ANGELES - Led by two goals by freshman forward Jennifer Prigmore and another by freshman forward Jackie Fodor, the USC women's soccer team earned a 3-0 exhibition victory over its alumni team on Sunday at McAlister Field.

The Women of Troy amassed a 36-4 shot advantage over an understaffed alumni team that started the game with only 12 players.

Still, the match was scoreless at halftime and stayed that way until the 65th minute, when a ball bounced off an alumni defender to Fodor, who blasted it home from 15 yards out.

The alumni had a chance to tie the game a few minutes later when Christi Ayala was brought down in the box. But Amy Peterson's penalty kick and a subsequent follow shot were stopped by freshman goalkeeper Lauren Arase.

Prigmore added goals in the 88th minute on a breakaway and in the 89th minute on a 10-yard shot from the left-hand side.

In addition to Ayala and Peterson, the alumni team featured Courtney Barham, Sharla Chiang, Karen Norgaard, Karin Puccinelli, Meghan Reppe, Laura Servis, Jodi Tagawa and Sheri Simala. USC assistant coaches Kit Vela and Jorge Vela also played for the alumni.

USC next has an exhibition at Loyola Marymount on Tuesday (Aug. 24) at 1 p.m., followed by the season opener against UC Irvine at the Coliseum on Sunday (Aug. 29) at 1 p.m.
