Neil Sedgwick begins his third season at USC and was named associate head coach prior to the 2003 season. He brings a wealth of collegiate and international coaching experience to the program. Sedgwick's main focus will be on the goalkeepers and defenders and also serves as the main recruiter for the program.
Sedgwick was the head coach at the University of North Dakota (1999-2000), where he registered a 19-15 overall record. The Fighting Sioux went 12-6 in 2000 and 7-9 in 1999, the first year of the program.
In addition to coaching at North Dakota, Sedgwick has been a staff coach with the Canadian National Women’s Team since 1996. He is a 1995 graduate of Dalhousie University, with bachelor’s degrees in education and physical education. He received his master’s degree from the University of Victoria in British Columbia last year. He also graduated from an eight-month residential program at the National Coaching Institute in Canada. As a coach, he holds an "A" license with the Canadian Soccer Association and earned his "A" license with the United States Soccer Federation in January 2001.
He and his wife, Riki, reside in Redondo Beach.
