THIS SEASON: Savelkoul provides the Trojans with a tall target player who can be a starter or a key component off the bench.
JIM MILLINDER SAYS: "Brittany can create many problems for our opponents. She is blessed with athleticism and a great work ethic. She will play a lot up front for us."
2000: A quality player up front in her 2000 junior season, playing in every match and starting in nine games...assisted on the game-winning goal on Nov. 8 in a 2-1 win against San Diego in an NCAA First Round match at the Coliseum...scored her lone goal of the season on Oct. 13 in a 3-0 win against Oregon...registered three assists on the season (Colorado, Santa Clara, San Diego).
1999: Made great improvement as a 1999 sophomore and turned into a key reserve forward in the latter half of the season...played in 18 matches, all off the bench...scored two goals and had one assist for a total of five points...the goals were against Arizona and Oregon and the assist came against Washington State...took seven shots.
1998: Showed great promise in her 1998 freshman season, coming off the bench in 20 matches...one of the first players off the bench at either a wide midfield or forward position...attempted seven shots.
HIGH SCHOOL: Named All-Sunset League all four years (twice on the first team and twice on the second team) at Los Alamitos (Calif.) High...named to the Orange County Girls' Soccer Coaches Association All-Star team following her senior year in 1998....made the 1997 Orange County Register All-Orange County second team as a junior...Los Alamitos won the CIF Southern Section Division I title her sophomore and junior seasons...also participated in track and field...at the club level, she played for the Southern California Blues.
PERSONAL: Majoring in exercise science at USC...enjoys snowboarding, water skiing and going to the beach...born in Salt Lake City on Nov. 3, 1979.
