    THIS SEASON: Roach, along with teammate Nikki Goza, provides the team with a solid defender in the backfield. She is one of the keys for the defense.

    JIM MILLINDER SAYS: "Amanda is very athletic and a good ball winner in the back. The key will be staying healthy for her. She wants a big senior season and we are looking for some strong leadership from her."

    2002: Made 21 in 22 starts in her 2002 senior season...scored the game-winning goal on Sept. 29 in a 2-1 win at UC Irvine on a 35-yard free kick...registered her lone assist on the game-winning goal in overtime on Oct. 20 in the 2-1 win at Arizona...had two shots on Sept. 13 vs. Vanderbilt.

    2001: Started in 13 of 14 matches before a right ankle injury sidelined her for the remainder of her 2001 sophomore season...recorded two assists on the season in back-to-back games (Oct. 12 vs. Arizona State and Oct. 14 vs. Arizona).

    2000: Used mainly as a reserve as a 2000 freshman...played in 14 games...recorded USC's lone goal in a 2-1 loss on Oct. 18 at Santa Clara.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Earned team most valuable player honors in her junior and senior seasons at Upland (Calif.) High, as well as defensive player of the year honors...earned All-CIF honors...named All-Baseline League all four years...member of her school's honor roll all four years and was a Who's Who recipient (1999 and 2000).

    PERSONAL: Majoring in business administration...lists The Family Guy as her favorite TV show...lists Revenge Of The Nerds as her favorite movie...enjoys going to the beach in her spare time...born on Jan. 11, 1982.
