THIS SEASON: Reed is the veteran defender and will be counted on to aid a relatively young backfield.

JIM MILLINDER SAYS: "Erin is very talented and when she is focused, she is a great presence in our defense for us. This is her senior year and I know she is going to step up her game another notch."

2000: As a 2000 junior, she had another strong season in the backfield, starting in every match...recorded her lone assist in the NCAA First Round match on Nov. 8 against San Diego in the Trojans' 2-1 win at the Coliseum.

1999: Registered another good year as a 1999 sophomore, typically serving as USC's first defender off the bench...played in all 20 matches and started seven...had one assist (against UC Irvine) and took two shots...over the summer, she played for the Olympic Development Program Cal-North team.

1998: Made an impact as USC's top freshman in 1998, as she started 20 games (playing in all 22) at defender...was named to the Soccer Buzz Freshman All-West Region first team...occasionally moved up to a midfield position...attempted nine shots.

HIGH SCHOOL: Erin was one of the top midfielders in Northern California, earning Contra Costa Times All-Area as a senior at San Ramon Valley High in Danville...four-year starter, she was also an All-East Bay Athletic League first teamer for her final three years, as well as a member of the All-Far West team as a senior...led San Ramon Valley to the CIF North Coast Section championship as a senior and league titles as a freshman, sophomore and junior...was the community service director in high school and a member of the honor roll...on the club level, Erin played for five state championship teams, the last two coming with the AC Premier T-Birds (where she was the captain in 1997-98)...she also played on several regional and state Olympic Development Program teams.

PERSONAL: Her father, Jerry, played baseball at Rice before transferring to USC and a grandfather also attended USC...majoring in business...enjoys spending time with friends and family...birthdate is Dec. 31, 1979.
