THIS SEASON Kristina Noriega enters her second season at USC as the linchpin in the Trojan defense.
2011 Noriega joined USC as a spring transfer and started all 20 games in her first season with the Trojans... A defender, was second on the team in scoring with three goals... First goal as a Trojan was Aug. 26 vs. Kansas... First assist was Sept. 2 at Illinois... Also scored goals vs. Oregon and at UCLA, finishing fourth on the team with seven points in the season.
AT UC RIVERSIDE Noriega started and played in 36 games in her two seasons at UC Riverside... A defender, scored one goal during her freshman year... Named to the 2009 UC Irvine Invitational All-Tournament Team and 2010 Wyoming Classic All-Tournament Team.
HIGH SCHOOL Noriega competed in soccer and track at Ocean View High in Huntington Beach, Calif.... Team reached the CIF playoffs three times and won the league championship her junior year... In track, was named the Golden West League MVP in 2007... Was the league champion in the 100m (2006, 07), 200m (2006, 07, 08) and 400m (2006, 07, 08) runs and a member of championship teams in the 4x100m (2006, 07, 08) and 4x400m (2008) relays... Played club soccer for Slammers FC.
PERSONAL Noriega is majoring in sociology... Parents are Rick and Teri... Has two brothers, Ricky and Ryan... Enjoys hanging out with friends and family and going to the beach in her free time...
