Trevor Mutch enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at USC. A competitive youth club coach for U-9 to U-17 levels for the past seven years, Mutch holds a USSF National C coaching license.
As a player, Mutch was an All-American at Claremont McKenna College, where he also was a First-Team All-SCIAC player in each of his four years as a starter. During his time at Claremont McKenna, he set the school's all-time scoring record with 80 career goals, which currently ranks 8th all-time in the NCAA Division III record books.
Following his undergraduate studies, Trevor spent a year coaching soccer at Loyola College Preparatory before attending graduate school at Santa Clara. He became heavily involved in coaching youth club soccer while pursuing a dual JD/MBA program at Santa Clara University School of Law and Business, which he completed in March 2007.
Raised in La Cañada, Calif., Mutch attended St. Ignatius of Loyola College Preparatory in Los Angeles. During his senior year of high school, he led his team to the 1998 CIF Division I title and was named the CIF Division I Offensive Player of the Year. The school subsequently retired his #9 jersey.
