    The founder of Luv Way Ministries is also signed on to the women's soccer staff for 2013.

    NCAA champ Marihelen Tomer using soccer to help save children in Africa.

    Marihelen Tomer is in her first season as Director of Operations for USC women's soccer. A legendary Trojan, Tomer scored the game-winning goal to claim the 2007 NCAA Championship for the Women of Troy as USC became the first Pac-12 team to win a women's soccer national title.

    A 2007 NCAA All-Tournament Team honoree, Tomer graduated from USC in 2009 with degrees in sociology and psychology. After redshirting her first season at Troy due to a knee injury, Tomer came back strong and finished her USC career not only as a national champion, but also at No. 4 all-time in game-winning goals (9) and No. 11 in scoring (14 goals).

    Following graduation, the Diamond Bar native participated in the World Race, where she spent 11 months doing volunteer work in 11 different countries around the world. She has remained devoted to service, and recently started her own nonprofit organization, Luv Way Ministries. The mission of Luv Way is to build and run a children's home in Kenya, where Tomer hopes to save the lives of Kenyan children. For more information, visit luvway.org

    Marihelen Tomer finished her USC career having provided the fourth most game-winning goals (9) in Trojan history... In 2008, she was second on the team with four goals and four assists... She started all 21 games and provided her ninth career game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to beat Michigan... Her 14 career goals is the the 11th most in program history.

    2008: Tomer played in all 23 games and started 18... Scored a team-high three game-winning goals, including the overtime score in USC's season opener at San Diego... Finished with four goals and five assists... Moved up to rank fifth all-time at USC with eight game-winning goals.

    2007: Tomer appeared in all 25 games and started 21 as a redshirt sophomore... Fully healed from previous injuries, Tomer scored five goals and had two assists for 12 total points... Four of her goals were game-winners, including the NCAA Championship-winning goal on a header against FSU... Named to NCAA College Cup All-Tournament Team... Ranks No. 10 all-time at USC with five career game-winning goals.

    2006: As she worked her way back to full strength health-wise, Tomer appeared in 20 games in her first season of action... Started three games and scored her first career goal with the game-winner against Washington on Oct. 29.

    2005: Tomer redshirted her first season to rehab an offseason knee injury.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Tomer scored 49 goals in her senior season with Diamond Ranch High in Pomona, Calif., finishing with 90 career goals... Was named to the Los Angeles Times All-Star Girls' Soccer Team... First team all-league selection as a sophomore, junior and senior... Two-time best offensive player (2003 and 2004)... League MVP as a senior and team MVP in 2002 and 2005... Named to All-Inland Valley first team in 2001... All-CIF first team honoree as a senior and third team selection in 2002...
