Janessa Currier enters her final season at USC as one of the Trojans' powerful defenders who has strong abilities in the air and works well in the transition to the attack.
Currier started all 25 games for USC as a junior defender... Scored five goals and had three assists for 13 points on the year... Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Oregon... Also scored the insurance goal for USC in the NCAA Championship game... Named to NCAA College Cup All-Tournament Team... Became one of USC's eight All-Americans, named a SoccerBuzz Fourth Team All-American... Currier was a two-time CIF Division III Defensive Player of the Year, and scored 30 goals for Walnut High School in her senior season... Was named to the 2004-05 Los Angeles Times All-Star Girls' Soccer Team... Walnut (Calif.) High team went undefeated in league play all four years and was the CIF champion for three straight years... Named CIF Defensive MVP and league MVP as a junior and senior... Received Tribune MVP honors as a junior and named to CIF third team as a sophomore... Selected to all-league first team two seasons... Team MVP as a junior and senior... Also played volleyball in high school on the San Antonio League champion teams in 2002 and 2003... Named league and team MVP in 2004... Inducted into Walnut High's Soccer Hall of Fame and named her graduating class's Best Female Athlete...
