THIS SEASON: Cale is part of a strong freshman class and will need to make the adjustment to Division I soccer in order to break into the starting lineup at midfield.

JIM MILLINDER SAYS: "Whitney is an extremely athletic left sided player with tremendous determination. I think the key for Whitney will be when she has to step up and play at this level. How quickly she gets onto the field will be determined by how quick she adapts to the pace of Division I soccer. She will always give you 100 percent, which is what I like about her."

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned All-CIF Southern Section and Division IV second-team honors at Marymount High in Los Angeles...earned All-Sunshine League honors three times...member of the 2000 U-19 state cup championship team (Impact)...also ran on the track team...graduated summa cum laude from Marymount High School...member of the National Honor Society and was junior class president.

PERSONAL: Undecided as a major...enjoys spending time with friends in her spare time...biggest sports hero is Jesse Owens...enjoys spending time with family...chose USC for the balanced academic and athletic programs...her birthdate is Oct. 14, 1981.
