    LOS ANGELES - USC women’s rowing will send their varsity eight to compete in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Sunday, Oct. 23. The Women of Troy will participate in the Women’s Championship Eight race (Event 49a) at the 52nd annual event.

    The USC varsity eight lineup will be the following:

    1. Ida Gørtz Jacobsen
    2. Sofia Sobotta
    3. Nikoline Laidlaw
    4. Krete Koovit
    5. Astrid Steensberg
    6. Chloe Brew
    7. Radka Novotnikova
    8. Athina Angelopoulou
    Coswain: Kaelyn Ibold

    The Women’s Championship Eights race is set to begin at 2:36 p.m. ET (11:36 a.m. PT) on Sunday, Oct. 23. The Women of Troy will face eights from Brown, Virginia, Princeton, Yale, Syracuse, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State, Northeastern, Notre Dame, Dartmouth, Clemson, Radcliffe, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Boston College, Boston University, Bucknell, Massachusetts, Georgetown, Drexel, Navy, Columbia, Rhode Island, the Cambridge Boat Club, the New York Athletic Club and a boat from the Netherlands.

    Since beginning in 1965, the Head of Charles Regatta has brought together the world’s best crew teams to the Charles River for two days of intense competition in 55 different events. The regatta welcomes more than 11,000 athletes and 400,000 spectators each year.
