    Trojans Rack Up CRCA Honors

    LOS ANGELES -- USC had four rowers selected to the 2011 Division 1 All West Region teams and six rowers named National Scholar-Athletes the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced Tuesday (May 24).

    Ivana Filipovic and Maria Wilgotsson were named to the CRCA All West Region first team, while Dionne Licudine and Lenka Vrecnikova were selected to the second team. All four compete on USC's varsity 8+ boat that won the San Diego Crew Classic and was victorious over Virginia, Michigan State and Clemson this season.

    Laura Corrales Diaz Pomatto, Melanie Grindle, Katherine McFetridge, Helen Tinkus, Caroline Trawick and Lenka Vrecnikova were selected as USC's CRCA Scholar Athletes. Criteria for this honor include that the student-athletes have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for her career (through the fall semester/quarter for the current competition year).

    The Women of Troy next compete in the NCAA Championships from May 27-29 at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.
