    LOS ANGELES - The sixth-ranked USC women's rowing team opens the 2014 season in Redwood City, Calif., at the Pac-12 Women's Challenge (March 29-30) hosted by Stanford on the waters of Redwood Shores. The Women of Troy will face crews from No. 16 Louisville on Saturday morning, followed by races against No. 18 Clemson in Saturday's afternoon session. USC and No. 3 Virginia will go head-to-head on Sunday morning.

    The Trojans will race four boats at the Pac-12 Challenge: a first and second varsity eight boat, and two varsity four boats. Other crews in attendance include host No. 13 Stanford, Oregon State, San Diego, No. 15 Wisconsin, Saint Mary's College, No. 2 California, Marin, Capital Crew, Mount Baker, St. Ignatius HS, River City, and the Stanford Rowing Center.

    USC's V8 will race Louisville to start the weekend at 9:10 a.m. PT on Saturday. The Trojans and the Cardinals' 2V8 will start at 9:40 a.m., followed by the V4 at 10:10 a.m., and the 2V4 at 10:40 a.m. On Saturday afternoon, the Trojans' V8 will face Clemson at 1:10 p.m., followed by 2V8 at 1:30 p.m., V4 at 1:50 p.m., and 2V4 at 2:10 p.m.

    Sunday's races against the third-ranked Cavaliers start with the varsity eight at 9 a.m. PT. The 2V8 will race at 9:20 a.m., followed by the V4 at 9:40 a.m., and the 2V4 at 10 a.m. to conclude the weekend.

    The racecourse runs through the heart of the Redwood Shores community; private protected waters that are the backyards of residents of Redwood Shores where many will be sitting and watching with their families and friends. Fans may view the race from the start at Marine Parkway and Shell Blvd., the Paragon Point launching area, the bridge at the 1,000-meter point, and along the shore on the side closest to lane one, at the base of the Hotel Sofitel.
