No. 6 USC Looks To Defend 2011 Titles This Weekend
Trojans open season at San Diego Crew Classic where they won two titles last year.
At USC
Jelena Zelenovic, a junior starboard from Serbia, is a long-time Serbian National Team member entering her third season with the Trojans...In 2011, was a fixture in the third seat for the Varsity Eight helping the team to a fifth place finish at the NCAA Championships and a third place finish at the Pac-10 Championships...She contributed to the teams title win in the Jessop-Whittier Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic as well as in wins over Clemson, Michigan State, Virginia and UCLA...In 2010, rowed out of the fifth seat on the First and Second Varsity Eight boats helping the Trojans to a fourth place finish at the Pac-10 Championships as well as a eighth place finish at the NCAA Championships...She was a key contributor on the First Varsity Eight's win at the head of the American and the Second Varsity Eight's win over Notre Dame at the SoCal Challenge.
Rowing Highlights
Zelenovic has rowed with Serbia's National Team from 2005-2008. At the 2008 World Rowing Junior Championships, she was 16th in single scull and was 10th in double scull in 2007...Was third in double and quadruple at the Balcau Championships....Rows for club team Rowing Club Danubius 1885 and won a Serbian national title with Trojan teammate Ivana Filipovic in double scull as well as in other events.
