Maria Wilgotsson, a longtime Swedish National Team member at the junior and U23 level, enters her fourth season with the Trojans...In 2011, Wilgotsson earned CRCA Pocock All-American and All-Pac-10 1st Team honors while rowing in every race out of the seventh seat for Varsity Eight...Wilgotsson was one of the main contributors in the Trojans strong fifth place finish at the NCAA Championships and third place finish at the Pac-10 Championships...She also played a key role in the boats title win in the Jessop-Whittier Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic as well as wins over Clemson, Michigan State, Virginia and UCLA...Additionally, Wilgotsson starred in the classroom and was named to the CRCA Div. 1 All-West Region National Scholar Athletes 1st team...In 2010, Wilgotsson rowed out of the third seat on the First Varsity Eight boat helping the Trojans to a fourth place finish at the Pac-10 Championships and a eighth place finish at the NCAA Championships...She was a key contributor in USC's first place finish at Ohio State and wins over Notre Dame, Clemson and UCLA...in 2009 Wilgotsson made an immediate impact on the Trojans, becoming a mainstay at the No. 2 seat in the varsity eight boat... At the 2009 NCAA Championships, she helped USC to a ninth place finish, 11th overall... She helped USC to fifth at the Pac-10 Championships and an 18-second win over UCLA. At the Charles River Challenge, she helped USC to a win in the morning session and a fourth at the San Diego Crew Classic. She also rowed in the win over LMU and in the win at the Head of the American.
Wilgotsson has rowed for the Swedish National Team, junior national team and the U23 team...Also a long-time member of the club Öresjö SS Rodd, where she was twice voted best rower of the year...finished in seventh place at the 2007 Junior World Championships in the 1x race.. third in the 1x race at the 2006 Baltic Cup and first in the 4x at the 2005 Baltic Cup...won the Swedish National Regatta three times in the 1x race, twice in the 2 plus coxswain, four plus coxswain and the eight plus coxswain races..finished first in the Nordic Championships in 2006 and 2007 in the 1x race and was also first in the 4x in 2006.
Maria Anna Wilgotsson is from Boras Sweden...a 2008 graduate of Sven Eriksson Gymnasiet...both mother, Carina and father, Anders, were professional rowers and represented Sweden in the World Championships and the Olympics...a human performance major.
