    2012-13
    Vanessa Tyson enters her second year with the Trojans and will row from the port side.

    2011-12
    As a junior transfer from OCC, Tyson started the year with USC's varsity four at the three seat and helped her boat to a fifth-place finish in the grand final for the Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic. She moved to the three seat in the second varsity eight for several races and in a three-way race, she helped her boat to a win against Princeton and Yale. Tyson later helped her 2V8 crew beat Michigan State and Notre Dame head-to-head at the Stanford Invitational. Turner rowed from the fifth seat in the second varsity eight at the Pac-12 Championships where USC came in fifth as a team, and held the same seat for the NCAA Championships where her boat finished first in the petite final and USC finished sixth as a team.

    2010-11
    As a sophomore, Tyson rowed for Orange Coast College and helped her crew place first at the San Diego Crew Classic in the Division II/III competition.

    2009-10
    As a freshman, Tyson started as a novice rower for Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Calif.

    CLUB AND HIGH SCHOOL
    Tyson graduated from Veres Pálné Gimnázium. She was a rhythmic gymnast for 12 years at the Budaors Student Club under head coach Emese Beres and placed second for the Hungarian team championship in the adult category.

    Vanessa Lee Tyson was born on June 12, 1988, in Lancaster, Calif.... uncle András Lányi played tennis for USC... won first place in a Hungarian poetry contest and took first place in an English poetry competition... majoring in economics.
