Elizabeth Turner enters her second year as a starboard rower for the Women of Troy and will serve as one of the team's captains.
As a freshman, Turner helped power USC's second varsity eight. From the fifth seat, she helped the 2V8 to a sixth-place finish for the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy at the San Diego Crew Classic. Turner moved to the seventh seat following the Crew Classic and occupied that spot for the rest of the year. In a three-way race, she helped the second varsity eight to a win against Princeton and Yale, and later helped her crew beat Michigan State and Notre Dame head-to-head at the Stanford Invitational. Turner rowed from the seventh seat in the second varsity eight at the Pac-12 Championships where USC came in fifth as a team, and held the same seat for the NCAA Championships where her boat finished first in the petite final and USC finished sixth as a team.
CLUB AND HIGH SCHOOL
Turner was a four-sport athlete at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute. She was a varsity letterwinner in basketball (3), rugby (4), soccer (2), and volleyball (2). Her teams each won the Prescott-Russell Secondary School Athletic Association title when she was a senior. Her basketball team won three championships with her on the roster. As a freshman, she was named Most Promising Female Athlete and received Best Academic Female Athlete as a junior and senior. She was also team MVP once in basketball, three times in soccer, and once each in volleyball and rugby. Turner was a four-year honor roll student, and was named class valedictorian. She also received Governor General and Ontario Scholar Awards as a senior. In addition to her high school accomplishments, Turner was also a nine-year member of the Gloucester Skating Club and played club soccer and club basketball.
