    Shelby Adair enters her second year with the Trojans.

    2011-12
    In her first year, Adair rowed out of the sixth seat in the novice eight and helped the Trojans to a third-place finish in the petite final at the San Diego Crew Classic. The top novice eight boat finished third at the Head of the American and second at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival.

    CLUB AND HIGH SCHOOL
    Adair rowed with the Marina Aquatic Center (MAC) for two years and helped the club's top boat to second-place finishes at the Head of the American and the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival. In her novice season, Adair stroked the B eights to a first-place finish at the Camino Real Cup. She rowed in the A4 and A8 boats all year and won three medals (two gold and one silver) at the Long Beach Invitational. Adair also lettered in softball for two years and was twice named a scholar-athlete.

    Shelby Zaryn Adair was born on Nov. 6, 1992, in Santa Barbara, Calif.... mother is Amber Adair... grandfather Eric Christianson threw the javelin for the USC track and field team in the late 1960's... grandmother Melinda Christianson played tennis at USC in the 1960's... served as a staff writer for her the Mustang Morning News... majoring in cinematic arts with a minor in Spanish.
