    Miya Okado enters her novice season with the Women of Troy.

    CLUB AND HIGH SCHOOL
    Okado prepped at Leonia High School in Leonia, N.J., where she was a three-sport athlete. She was a four-year starter in tennis, basketball as a point guard, and in softball as a catcher. She was a two-time team MVP and a team captain for basketball and was a first-team All-NJIC Patriot League member and all-county honorable mention as a junior and senior. Okado completed her basketball career with 1,021 points. In tennis, she was named All-League as a junior and senior and was a two-time team MVP and captain. She was a three-time North 1 Group 1 New Jersey State Champion, a Bergen County Tournament finalist, and went undefeated in the state tournament as a senior. In softball, Okado received All-League and All-County honors as a junior and senior and was also a two-time team MVP and captain as she helped her squad to the 2011 NJIC Patriot League title. Okado was a member of the LHS honor roll for four years (2008-12), the National Honors Society president, an AP Scholar, and won the President's Award for Educational Excellence.

    Miya Okado was born on July 23, 1994, in Okayama, Japan... parents are Jinshun Okado and Minsun Lee... a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honors Society and of Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med Honors Society... aspires to become a physician... majoring in kinesiology.
