    Women's Rowing: NCAA Championships

    The second-ranked Women of Troy completed the 2013 campaign with a program-best fourth-place finish in the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Championships at Eagle Creek Park on Sunday (June 2). USC's varsity four claimed silver in the fours grand final to take the podium while the Trojans' second varsity eight enjoyed a best-ever finish of fourth place. USC's varsity eight topped off the day with a sixth-place finish in its grand final.

    Jelena Zelenovic enters her fourth year with the Women of Troy as a starboard rower.

    As a junior, Zelenovic rowed from the seventh seat in the varsity eight boat all season and helped the Trojans capture a second straight Jessop-Whittier Cup title at the San Diego Crew Classic, and dual wins against Michigan State, Notre Dame, Princeton, and Yale. Zelenovic was also in USC's top eight boat that finished second at the Pac-12 Championships--fifth place as a team--and in third place at the NCAA Championships; sixth place as a team.

    In her sophomore season, Zelenovic rowed from the No. 3 seat for the varsity eight. She helped her crew to a third-place finish at the Pac-10 Championships (third place as a team) and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships (fifth place as a team). Zelenovic also helped the Women of Troy win the program's third Jessop-Whittier Cup in program history at the San Diego Crew Classic as well as dual wins over Clemson, Michigan State, Virginia, and UCLA.

    As a freshman, Zelenovic held the fifth seat in the varsity eight boat and helped the Trojans to a fourth-place finish at the Pac-10 Championships and an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. She also helped USC to a win over Notre Dame in the SoCal Challenge.

    A fixture on the Serbian National Team, Zelenovic rowed with the national team from 2005-08. She earned 16th in the single sculls at the 2008 World Rowing Junior Championships, and was 10th in the double scull in 2007. Zelenovic came in third in the double and quadruple at the Balcau Championships and rows for VK Danubius 1885 with teammate Ivana Filipovic. The pair won a Serbian national title in double scull among other events.
