The USC women's rowing team will bring home the Jessop-Whittier Cup and the Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup
2012-13 Elaine Krebs enters her second year with the Trojans and will row from the port side.
2011-12 As a freshman, Krebs rowed out of the third seat in the novice eight and helped the Trojans to a third-place finish in the petite final at the San Diego Crew Classic. Krebs also rowed with the novice eight in the UCLA dual and at the Pac-12 Championships. The top novice eight boat finished third at the Head of the American and second at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival.
CLUB AND HIGH SCHOOL Krebs prepped at Benet Academy where she played gold for four years and served as team captain for one. She was named to the Eastern Suburban Catholic Conference (ESCC) All-Conference team in 2009 and 2010 and was an ESCC Distinguished Student-Athlete for the 2010-11 season. Krebs was also a three-time sectional qualifier. She helped her team to a fifth-place finish in the 2010 conference tournament and a sixth-place regional finish. She was named an Illinois State Scholar, a National Merit Scholar, and received the Christian Service Senior Award.
PERSONAL Elaine Maria Krebs was born on June 7, 1993, in Ypsilanti, Mich.... parents are Jeff and Laurie Krebs... has one younger sister named Alicia (17)... uncle Miguel Hargrove played rugby at USC... enjoys sailing, surfing, and skiing among other sports and is an avid volunteer... aspires to work in science research or education... majoring in biochemistry.
