The second-ranked Women of Troy completed the 2013 campaign with a program-best fourth-place finish in the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Championships at Eagle Creek Park on Sunday (June 2). USC's varsity four claimed silver in the fours grand final to take the podium while the Trojans' second varsity eight enjoyed a best-ever finish of fourth place. USC's varsity eight topped off the day with a sixth-place finish in its grand final.
2012-13 Jennah Blau enters her fourth year as a coxswain with the Women of Troy.
2011-12 As a junior, Blau served as one of the team's captains and took over coxswain duties in the second varsity eight partway through the spring. She coxed the 2V8 to road victories over Yale and Princeton and to wins against Michigan and Notre Dame at the Stanford Invitational. Blau's second varsity eight also won the petit final at the NCAA championships.
2010-11 As a sophomore, Blau coxed the second varsity four to wins at the San Diego Crew Classic and over UCLA in the annual dual.
2009-10 As a freshman, Blau served as the coxswain for the novice eight at the San Diego Crew Classic and in a tri-meet with Notre Dame and Clemson. Halfway through the season, she took over as the coxswain for the second varsity eight and helped the Trojans to a fourth-place finish at the Pac-10 championships and an eighth-place finish at the NCAA championships.
CLUB AND HIGH SCHOOL Blau served as a coxswain for the men's varsity eight with the H.B. Plant High School Rowing Association from 2006-09 and competed with the Southeast Junior Development team from 2007-08.
PERSONAL Jennah Leore Blau was born on Aug. 7, 1991, in Tampa, Fla.... parents are Richard and Valerie Blau... twin sister Hannah plays tennis for NYU... member of the USC chapter of Gamma Phi Beta... enjoys distance running and has completed the Nike Women's Half Marathon (San Francisco, Calif.) three times with a top time of 1:44:00... majoring in communications with a minor in digital studies.
