Megan Biging, a four-year varsity letter winner and former captain of the USC women's rowing team, enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Women of Troy in 2011-12.
Biging returns to Troy after spending the last four years building the Radnor Girls Crew Club, once an unknown program, into one of the top junior programs in the country. This year her crew won the prestigious Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia and placed second at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America at Cooper River, NJ.
She established a successful learn-to-row summer program and has coached several top athletes who received rowing scholarships to D-1 universities. One of her former athletes, Chandler Lally, who she coached form the beginning of her career, stroked the USA straight four to a silver medal at the 2010 World Championships and is currently on the Junior National Team.
In her time at USC, Biging, rowed with the varsity eight from 2002-06. She helped the team to a third place finish at the 2006 Pac-10 Championships, the programs first qualification of all three boats for the NCAA Championships in 2005 and a sixth place finish at the 2003 NCAA Championships.
Born in Santa Monica, Calif., Biging is a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and holds a degree in social science from USC. She is currently working towards her masters degree in organizational leadership.
