    Munday and Wills Shine for Team USA in Stars and Stripes Weekend

    USC head coach Lindsey Munday had a goal and five assists in USA's 12-11 win over Australia on Sunday.

    PALO ALTO, Calif. - USC women's lacrosse head coach Lindsey Munday and assistant coach Devon Wills helped the U.S. National Team to a pair of victories over archrival Australia as part of Stars and Stripes Weekend in the Bay Area. In the weekend's first matchup, Team USA claimed a 16-3 win on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Burlingame High School. In a day-after rematch, the Americans needed every goal in a 12-11 victory on Sunday, Oct. 7, at Stanford's Cagan Stadium.

    In the first meeting, longtime U.S. goalkeeper Wills started in the net, and contributed three saves in the first half. With the game in hand, Wills sat out the second half as back-up net-minders shared time.

    On the offensive end, 12 different American players scored on the offensive end, led by midfielder Kelly Berger with three goals and one assist.

    One day later, Team USA team fought tooth-and-nail to earn its 12-11 win over the Aussie's. Munday had a goal and five assists in the victory.

    The game served as a preview for the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup, where the U.S. will defend its 2009 gold medal against the a field that will include rival Australia.

    Members of Team USA not including Munday and Wills also played and defeated the Canadian National Team (16-5), Stanford (17-6), and California (18-3)
