    Johansen Receives Second MPSF Rookie of the Week Honor

    LOS ANGELES - USC women's lacrosse freshman midfield Amanda Johansen (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore HS) was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Rookie of the Week for the week of March 4-10, on Monday, March 11. It is the second weekly honor for Johansen who also took home the Rookie of the Week award on Feb. 25.

    Johansen had a game-high five goals to lead the Women of Troy and added an assist in a 12-7 win over UC Davis. She also had a ground ball and a caused turnover to go with six draw controls against the Aggies. She then scored two goals and had an assist at No. 18 Stanford where she also grabbed another five draw controls.

    One of the Trojans' most consistent players, Johansen leads her team in draw controls with 51 and has racked up 27 points, this season, with 21 goals and six assists. She leads the MPSF and is ranked fourth in the country in draw controls at a 6.38 dcpg clip.

    USC (4-4, 2-1 MPSF) hosts Temple (4-1) in a midweek game at McAlister Field. The Trojans and the Owls will draw at 3 p.m. PT on Wednesday, March 13.
