    USC HEAD COACH LINDSEY MUNDAY

On coming back to win after trailing at the half
“I think the girls really bought into what we were going to do in the second half. We wanted to come out and pressure them and our midfielders and defenders really bought into that, so it was just about ramping up our intensity level, which is great.”

On the team’s three-game winning streak
“I think it sets a great tone, but really, for us, we focus on one game at a time. Our focus was Columbia today and now it’s going to be Princeton moving forward, so we’re just excited for another opportunity on Wednesday against a great opponent.”

On the team’s effectiveness at the draw control
“It’s been a focus for us. Obviously, if you have possession, you set yourself up for success, so it’s been a focus for us and just boxing out and working together. I think going in two’s and three’s is a big key to that.”

    LIZ SHAEFFER, So. G

On the team’s collective defensive effort
“We really just came out, [and] we fought the entire game. We had a [couple of] kinks we had to work out as the game went on, but mainly, we just worked together the entire time and finally pulled out the win at the end there.”

On her seven saves and five ground balls
“[I think] just really getting to know their offensive plays and moves and what they were doing. A lot of it came from our defense setting up with the shots that we knew that we could save, so it was really just a whole defensive effort getting those right shots off, so that we knew we could stop them.”

    On her defense
“We were just communicating, telling everybody where to go. Everybody was really on point with their communication and slides and I think today was our best day as a unit working together.”

    AMANDA JOHANSEN, So. M

On her performance on the field
“I think my teammates really had my back today. I made a ton of mistakes, but on each mistake, we got it back. We capitalized and when we had the opportunity to go to goal at the end, it all worked out for us. When we started moving the ball, we all started touching it; we came together as a team. It worked out great.”

On halftime adjustments and coming from behind
“We listened to our coaches and the game plan that they had. When we came out there, we used it and put it out there. It worked to our advantage and I think our defense played great today. Liz [Shaeffer] played phenomenal in goal and when our defense plays that strong, we know on attack that we can’t make as many mistakes in the second half. Because our defense stepped up so much today, that in the end it worked out for us.”

On ball movement in the field
“They shut off our girls in the back behind the net, so we knew that we had to keep it moving up top. In the second half, you can see that we moved it a lot better up top when we start out.”
