    USC Head Coach Lindsey Munday

On getting the program’s first-ever conference victory
“It’s really exciting. There are just so many firsts that happen with a new program, and a new team, and obviously conference games are the most important for us. The girls did a great job of preparing, this week, and Saint Mary’s is a great team and they fought really hard.”

On having to go on the road for four straight games
“We haven’t been thinking about it. We’re really trying to focus on one game at a time, but now, the next one is on the road, so it’s just a different environment in terms of traveling and making sure that school work is taken care of. You’re catching up on your sleep before that big trip, but I think it’ll be fun. We get a plane ride with a group of 26 girls, so it will be a time to bond and we’re just going have to beef up if the weather isn’t as nice as it is, today. We have a lot of girls from the East Coast, so hopefully that won’t be an issue.”

On the play of freshman attack Caroline de Lyra
“She’s a tremendous player and I think she really made her teammates look good, today, which is what we need of her. She’s a leader on the attack and I think for us a lot of things run through her and we’re excited that she came out and made some great decisions, today.”

On getting the program’s first-ever conference victory
“It was just a really good moment; really special to play our first conference game with this team and we just wanted to come out hard against this team. They lost, a couple days ago, and we just wanted to get our first win in the conference.”

On the team’s first road trip
“I think it’s going to be good. We’re going to New York, next week, so we’re going to try to bring that momentum over to the East Coast and try to tear it up over there.”

On what she felt she did well in the game
“I’m not sure what the highlight of the game was, for me. I think it was the first goal and then when we started to get up. I think because we knew we could win it, we weren’t really sure how we were going to compare to other teams in the conference and then once we started winning and getting the score board up, then we really showed up.”
