    Mawhinney enters her senior season as an attacker for the Women of Troy.

    As a junior, Mawhinney appeared in 11 games and scored nine points (7g, 2a)… finished with three ground balls and three draw controls… was 1-for-2 on free-position shots and had a .818 shots-on-goal  percentage… matched her career best with three points (1g, 2a) in a 20-7 win over Saint Mary’s College (Mar. 20).

    As a sophomore, Mawhinney scored five goals and collected one assist for six points in four games… she had two goals and an assist with a 2-for-3 outing on free-position shots in USC’s 16-6 win over Fresno State (March 28)… scored two goals and picked up a ground ball and a caused turnover in an 18-4 win over Saint Mary’s College (April 4). 

    As a freshman, Mawhinney appeared in seven of USC’s 18 games in the program’s inaugural season… scored four goals and recorded an assist for five points… finished with seven ground balls, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers… scored three goals on three shots (1-for-1 from 8-meter arc) in her first collegiate game against Presbyterian (Feb. 15).

    Mawhinney was a four-year letterwinner at Poudre High School where she also earned four letters in field hockey… named first-team All-Colorado, first-team All-Conference, team MVP and 2012 Poudre HS Athlete of the Year as a senior… first-team All-Colorado and first-team All-Conference selections as a junior… first-team All-Conference and All-Colorado as a sophomore… 411 career points at Poudre HS… a 2011 Academic All-American… four-time Reporter Herald Player of the Year (2009-12)… played for several different club teams over seven years including Mile High Elite and Colorado Select… member of the National Honors Society and an Academic All-State selection as a junior and senior… recipient of International Baccalaureate diploma.

    Margaret Catherine Mawhinney was born on April 24, 1994, in Englewood, Colo…. parents are Pat and Fara Mawhinney… has one brother, Teran, who was an All-SCIAC defensive back for Occidental College (Calif.) and is now a football coach at Mary-Hardin Baylor… majoring in business administration.
