    The Women of Troy defeated the Blackbirds, 23-8, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to win their first-ever road game.

    Shaeffer enters her junior season as a goalie for the Women of Troy.

    As a sophomore, Shaeffer started in goal in all 18 of USC's games and earned nine victories... named MPSF Defensive Player of the Week (April 21) following an eight-save, four ground ball performance to help the Trojans beat No. 13 Stanford... MPSF All-Academic Team... led the MPSF in ground balls (28th in the country) with 2.61 ground balls per game... finished with a 9.57 goals-against average to rank fourth in the MPSF... .377 save percentage and 5.56 saves per game each ranked eighth in the MPSF... finished with 47 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers... produced a season-high 14 saves against Colorado (April 11)... set a career-high with six ground balls against Boston College (March 6).

    As a freshman, Shaeffer started in goal in all 18 of USC's games in the program's inaugural season... earned eight wins... produced double-digit saves in four games including a season-best 18 in her first game against Northwestern (Feb. 9)... ranked fifth in MPSF with .393 save percentage... ranked sixth in MPSF in goals-against average (11.70 gaa), and saves per game (7.39 spg)... finished with 24 ground balls (third on the team) and six caused turnovers.

    Shaeffer was a three-year letterwinner at Oak Ridge High School... selected for Academic All-America and All Sacramento Valley Conference honors as a senior... named All-SVC as a sophomore and junior... club for Triple Threat lacrosse club for three years... selected to Pacific NorCal WDNT Team No. 1... led her team to first place in the 3v3 Midwest Challenge at Ohio State... served as a volunteer umpire and coach in youth lacrosse.

    Elizabeth Irene Shaeffer was born on Feb. 28, 1994, in Morgan Hill, Calif.... parents are Chuck and Debi Shaeffer... has one brother, Charlie... majoring in sociology with aspirations to become an FBI agent.
