    The Women of Troy suffered a tough 9-8 setback in Providence, R.I., as the Brown Bears claimed a double-overtime win.

    The Women of Troy dropped a 15-8 decision to the Bulldogs in Smithfield, R.I., on March 19.

    Couture enters her fourth season, as a graduate student-athlete, as a midfielder and defender for the Women of Troy.

    As a senior, Couture started and played in 14 of USC’s 20 games before she suffered a leg injury that sidelined her for the remainder of the season… named to the MPSF All-Academic Team... picked up 12 ground balls, caused seven turnovers, and won three draw controls… picked up a career-high three ground balls at Dartmouth (March 28) and tied a career high with three draw controls against Colorado (April 10).

    As a junior, Couture played in and started all 18 of USC’s games… named to MPSF All-Academic Team… collected 16 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and six draw controls… three caused turnovers against California (April 6) tied for second most in a single game by a Trojan in 2014.

    As a sophomore, Couture appeared in 18, and started 13, of USC’s contests in its inaugural season… earned MPSF All-Academic Team honors… finished with 14 draw controls, 10 ground balls, and eight caused turnovers.

    Couture was a four-year letterwinner at Coronado High School… also lettered in soccer for four years… received U.S. Lacrosse All-America honors and Academic All-America and was named Coronado High School Female Athlete of the Year as a senior… won the CIF Sportsmanship Award as a junior and a senior… helped lead her team to four straight Western League titles and to the 2011 CIF championship… named San Diego Union-Tribune Lacrosse All-Academic team as a junior… Coronado Eagle and Journal Female Athlete of the Year… served on student government for four years as vice president of her freshman and sophomore classes and as the commissioner of public relations as a junior and senior… played four years with West Coast Starz lacrosse club and six years with Lax Dawgs lacrosse club… member of the Women’s Division National Team.

    Kaitlyn Dee Couture was born on July 18, 1993, in San Diego, Calif.… parents are Jeff and Lori Couture… has one brother, Cory, who plays lacrosse at Denison University… cousin Kevin Couture played baseball at USC and was drafted by the San Francisco Giants… cousin Shelby Couture played women’s water polo at UCLA… prepped at Coronado HS… majoring in communications.
