Incoming Trojan McCloskey In North-South Amateur Final

USC incoming transfer Lisa McCloskey, a two-time All-American at Pepperdine the past two seasons, will play in the final of the 108th Women's North & South Amateur Championship at Pinehurst (N.C.) on Saturday.

McCloskey, seeded sixth in the event, earned the berth after defeating 2010 ACC individual champion Michelle Shin of Wake Forest, 2 and 1, in the semifinals. She had four birdies in her semifinal round.

McCloskey will face Cydney Clanton, a senior at Auburn, in the 36-hole final that begins at 8 a.m. EDT. The two faced off in the semifinals of last year's event with Clanton winning.

McCloskey also reached the final of the U.S. Women's Public Links earlier this summer and made the cut at the 2010 U.S. Open as well, tying for 62nd overall.
