    July 5, 2012

USC rising sophomore Doris Chen, the 2012 Pac-12 champion, and incoming freshman Kyung Kim, the 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links winner, will join eight former Trojans at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship today through Sunday (July 5-8) at the Blackwolf Run Championship Course in Kohler, Wisc.

While Chen and Kim will compete as amateurs, the eight-woman contingent of former Trojans features many players having solid years on the tour, including Veronica Felibert.

Felibert last week tied for fourth at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, her best result as a pro, which included a career-best pay day of more than $90,000. She is now 53rd on the LPGA money list this year at $96,259.

Other Trojans competing the U.S. Open this week who are on the top 100 on the LPGA money list this year are Candie Kung in 17th ($310,360), Jennifer Song in 61st ($78,929), Lizette Salas in 63rd ($78,749), Nicole Castrale in 65th ($76,532), Dewi Claire Schreefel in 76th ($47,111) and Belen Mozo in 77th ($47,074). Paola Moreno, on the 2008 USC title team with Mozo, Salas and Schreefel, rounds out the USC group playing this week.

Both ESPN2 and NBC will cover the event at varying times throughout the week.
