Former USC standout Veronica Felibert registered her best result as a professional golfer Sunday, tying for fourth at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G at the Pinnacle C.C. in Rogers, Ark.
Felibert, only the third Venezuelan to play on the LPGA Tour, entered the final round with a four-stroke lead. Duking it out with the some of the game's top veterans, Felibert, a rookie on the tour, settled for a tie for fourth, good for a $93,770 pay day and a jump into the top 10 of the LPGA Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race.
Felibert, an All-Pac-10 second teamer at USC, fired rounds of 65 and 66 to race out to a four-stroke lead in the 54-hole event at 11-under before her 1-over final round of 72. She finished two back of winner Ai Miyazato.
Four former Trojan All-Americans also made the cut and finished in the top 50. Trojan NCAA title winner Jennifer Rosales tied for 14th at 5-under 208 while fellow Trojan great Lizette Salas tied for 28th at 2-under 211.
