Junior Sophia Popov, recently second at the Pac-12 Championships, has been named the Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Month for April, the Pac-12 announced today.

Popov recorded her fifth career individual title as the Trojans captured the win at the SDSU Farms Invitational on April 2 at The Farms Golf Course in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. She finished at 1-over 217 (74-69-74) to claim her first title this year.

Popov's fifth win also tied her with Irene Cho and Mikaela Parmlid for the most ever at USC.

Popov finished second at the Pac-12 Championships, carding a 5-under 211 (66-75-70). Her first round score of 6-under 66 was the lowest carded in the tournament. USC combined for a combined 11-under 853 (280-291-282) to capture the conference title by 24 strokes.

This is USC's first golfer of the month recipient this season and Popov's first career golfer of the month award.
