No. 4 USC Fourth After Fall Preview Second Round

Freshman Kyung Kim fired a 1-under 71 to join junior Sophia Popov in a tie for 15th while No. 4 USC finished the second round of the 2012 Liz Murphey Fall Preview in fourth at the University of Georgia G.C. in Athens, Ga., on Saturday (Oct. 6). The Trojans, third in their first event this season, are a combined 16-over 592, 12 behind first-place Auburn (580). Defending NCAA champion Alabama is second (585) with North Carolina third (586). Kim posted a five-birdie day and was 3-under on the back 9 to move into a tie for 15th at 2-over 146 (75-71). Popov (71-75) had one birdie in her second round against three bogeys. Sophomore Doris Chen is tied for 22nd at 3-over 147 (73-74), junior Rachel Morris is tied for 59th at 9-over 153 (76-77) while freshman Kim Santiago is tied for 80th at 14-over 158 (79-79). The event concludes Sunday.
