    Women's Golf Advances To NCAA Championships After Eighth Place Finish At NCAA West Regional

    Stanford, Calif. - Junior Mikaela Parmlid shot a final round 68 on Saturday to lead the No. 14 USC women's golf team to eighth place at the NCAA West Regional Championships held at Stanford Golf Course.

    By finishing in the top eight teams, USC now moves on to the NCAA Championships to be held in Auburn, Wash., on May 21-24.

    The Women of Troy shot 292 in the final round to finish with a 54-hole total of 908, 25 strokes behind regional co-champs Pepperdine and UCLA (883). California was third (889), followed by Arizona (890) and Stanford (901).

    Parmlid and Katherine Hull of Pepperdine each shot 215 to tie in the runner up spot behind champion Lorena Ochoa of Arizona (210). Jimin Kang of Arizona State was fourth (216), while Alena Sharp of New Mexico State and Lindsey Wright of Pepperdine each shot 218 to tie for fifth.

    Also for USC, junior Becky Lucidi tied for 15th (223), sophomore Anna Rawson tied for 45th (233) and junior Yon Yim tied for 63rd (237).

    USC is next in action at the NCAA Championships on May 21-24.
