Women's Golf In Eighth After First Round Of NCAA West Regional|

Stanford, Calif. - The No. 14 USC women's golf team shot 309 on Thursday to rest in eighth place after the first round of the 2002 NCAA West Regional Championships held at Stanford Golf Course.
USC shot 21 over par, 20 strokes behind leader Pepperdine (289). UCLA is second (296), followed by California (297), Arizona (299) and New Mexico (302). The top eight teams from the 21 team tournament will advance to the NCAA Championships to be held in Auburn, Wash., on May 21-24.
Junior Mikaela Parmlid leads the Women of Troy, tying for ninth after shooting a one-over-par 73. Katherine Hull of Pepperdine is the overall leader at 69.
The second round resumes on Friday at 7:30 a.m.
