    April 20, 2015

Sophomore Gabriella Then carded a 1-over 72 to lead the No. 1 USC women's golf team, which finds itself with some ground to make up after the first round of the 2015 Pac-12 Championships at the Boulder (Colo.) C.C. on Monday (April 20).

The Trojans combined for a 9-over 293 to finish the first 18 holes in sixth, nine back of first-place Oregon. Stanford is second at 2-over 286 while UCLA is third at 3-over 287. USC, a four-time winner this season, is after the sixth conference title in program history.

Then, who has been one of USC's most consistent golfers this spring with four top 10 finishes since February, is tied for 12th after her 1-over opening round, which included two birdies.

Freshman Amy Lee is tied for 21st at 2-over 73. She was 1-over on both of her nines today with three birdies.

Juniors Annie Park and Kyung Kim are tied for 26th at 3-over 74, both 2-over going out and 1-over coming in. Park won the Pac-12 title as a freshman in 2013. Sophomore Karen Chung is tied for 37th at 5-over 76.

    Action continues Tuesday and Wednesday.

In addition to competing for the Pac-12 title, Troy has an eye on the SoCal BMW Crosstown Cup competition, the season-long battle between USC and UCLA in all sports. Points for women's golf are awarded to the highest finisher between the rivals at the Pac-12 Championships. Ten points are up for grabs for all sports.
