Sophomores Gabriella Then (69) and Karen Chung (70) raced to first and a tie for second, respectively, and led the No. 3 USC women's golf team to a six-stroke lead after the first round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C., on Friday (March 6).
USC finished the first round at 1-over 285 with LSU second at 7-over 291. Arkansas and Duke were tied for third at 9-over 293. The Trojans are seeking their third win this season.

Junior Kyung Kim is tied for 10th at 1-over 72 with three birdies and four bogeys while junior Annie Park is tied for 22nd at 3-over 74. Freshman Amy Lee, in her first tough day in seven rounds since joining the team in January, is tied for 81st at 11-over 82.
