THIS SEASON: Senior Catalina Marin is a 2006-2007 All-American candidate who will undoubtedly be a team leader. She has been among USC's most consistent golfers each year with the team.
2005-2006: Marin, as a 2006 junior, was fourth on the squad in stroke average (75.48) and posted three top 10 finishes and four in the top 20 ... She carded a season-best tie for sixth at the 2006 NCAA Central Regional (223). She also tied for eighth at the Kent Youel Invitational and tied for 10th at the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate ... She tied for 19th at the Pac-10 Championships ... Her low 54-hole score was a 215 at the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate.
2004-2005: Marin was fourth on the squad in stroke average (75.74), finishing as the Women of Troy's highest performer in three tournaments and was in USC's top 3 three other times ... She posted a season-best third-place at the UNLV Spring Invitational, her 222 helping Troy to the tournament title ... Her other top 10 finish was a tie for ninth at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational (227) ... She tied for 18th at both the Pac-10 Championships (227) and the Stanford Intercollegiate (218), posting a season-low 70 in the latter tourney.
2003-2004: Marin entered USC in the spring and contributed right away for the Women of Troy... She played in eight tournaments and finished fifth on the team with a stroke average of 77.75 ... She finished second at the 36-hole CSU Cougar Invitational ... Tied for 12th at the Betsy Rawls Invitational while competing as an individual ... Shot a season-low 72 in the second round of the Ping ASU Invitational, where she also had her best 54-hole score with a 223.
BEFORE USC: Marin was an accomplished junior golfer before arriving at USC ... She won the 2001 South American PreJunior Championship, leading Colombia to the team title ... Was part of the Colombia squad that won the South American Junior team title in both 2002 and 2003 ... Tied for 52nd at the 2002 Women's World Amateur in Kuala Lumpur, part of a Colombian team that tied for 12th overall ... She finished 15th at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Torrey Pines, Calif., behind future USC teammate Veronica Felibert.
PERSONAL: Born on June 19, 1986, Catalina is a pyschology major and a business minor ... Fellow Trojan Paola Moreno is also from Colombia.
