    THIS SEASON: One of the top freshmen in the country in 2013, Kyung Kim gives an immediate lift to USC's starting lineup.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Kim prepped at Hamilton High in Chandler, Ariz., where she became a member of the 2011 U.S. Junior Solheim Cup Team and the West Wyndham Cup Team and qualified to compete in the U.S. Women's Open. The sixth-ranked junior in the country as a senior and the second-ranked in her class according to Golfweek Sagarin, Kim was a four-time 2011 Rolex Junior All-American, twice as a first teamer. She was the 2010 Arizona High School Player of the Year and was Arizona All-State first team four years in a row (2009-12). Kim won three AJGA events (she had four AJGA top 10 finishes in 2011) and posted three seconds and five thirds. Among her wins were the 2010 PING Phoenix Junior and the 2011 Heather Farr Classic ... After graduating from high school, she won her biggest event to date, claiming the 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship at Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, N.J., in late June. Kim, who advanced to the 64-player match-play draw after tying for 20th in two rounds of stroke play, had 10 birdies in the championship round. Her victory was the first time that a non-college player claimed the title since 2007 ... Kim also competed as an amateur at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open Championship, missing the cut by one stroke with a two-round 150.

    Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?
    Annika Sorenstam. She has been my role model since I started playing golf. Her golf game and demeanor off and on the course is very inspiring.

    If you could play with any 3 people in the history of the world, who would it be?
    Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, and Roger Federer.

    Why did you choose to come to USC?
    I chose USC because of the family like environment within the school and the great team chemistry. USC offers the best academic and athletic services along with a great support network from the Trojan family. After taking my unofficial visits, I was convinced that USC would help me pursue my goals as a student athlete and have memorable experiences throughout my college career.

    What is your favorite golf course?
    Wailea Emerald in Maui, Hawaii.

    What is your favorite band or musical artist?
    One Direction.

    What is your favorite USC home golf course?
    Trump National.

    What is your greatest golf memory?
    Winning my first big tournament, the USGA Women's Amateur Public Links.

    Korean.

    What do you like to do when you're not playing golf?
    Hanging out with friends and family.

    The number 4 is my lucky number along with the color green, so I only play golf balls with the number 4 on them and mark my golf balls with a green flower.
